If you are using the camera for the first time, read this section.

Charging the Rechargeable Battery (DB-65)

DB-65 Li-ion batteries must be charged before use.

1 Insert the battery into the battery charger, making sure that the rand smarkings on the battery match those on the battery charger.

• The battery label should face up.

Be careful not to reverse the rand ssides.

2 Plug the power cable into an outlet.

•Use the battery charger (BJ-6) to recharge the battery.

•Charging starts. Charging status is indicated by the charger lamp as shown in the table below. Once charging has finished, unplug the battery charger from the power outlet.

The battery charger terminal may be soiled or the battery charger/battery may be faulty. Unplug the battery charger from the power outlet, and remove the battery.

•The approximate time needed to recharge a fully-exhausted battery is shown below.
