The R-05 can automatically set the optimum recording level, and split the file automatically.

It’s also possible to record both a high-quality WAV file for CD production and a smaller sized MP3 file at the same time (p. 41).

The R-05 provides a convenient way to record outdoors. Since there’s a retrospective feature that can also capture the two seconds prior to the moment you pressed the record button, you can capture the desired sound without missing the first moment (p. 50). Two AA batteries allow approximately 16 hours of continuous recording.
