IR and Power Connections

The K2 keypad can be connected using either CAT-5 or shielded 4- conductor, 22-gauge 2-twisted-pair cable. The maximum recommended cable length is 250 feet for either type of cable. See page 15 for the wiring color codes for both cables.

When using shielded 22/4 cable, use one twisted pair for power and ground, and the other twist- ed pair for status and IR signal. Always leave the shield open at the keypad end.

When using CAT-5 cable, do not connect the Orange/White and Green/White to GND (ground) at the K2 keypad.
