-Hvis tv’et ikke understøtter HDCP (High- bandwidth Digital Content Protection), opstår der støj (“sne”) på skærmen.

Hvorfor bruger Samsung HDMI?

Et analogt tv kræver et analogt video/lydsignal. Men ved afspilning af en dvd er de data, der overføres til tv’et, digitale. Derfor er det nødvendigt med en digital til analog-konverter (i dvd-optageren) eller en analog til digital-konverter (i tv’et). Ved denne konvertering forringes billedkvaliteten pga. støj og signaltab. HDMI- teknologien er fremragende, fordi den ikke kræver nogen digital til analog-konvertering

og består af et rent digitalt signal fra afspilleren til tv'et.

Hvad er HDCP?

HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) er et system, der forhindrer, at dvd-indhold, der udsendes via HDMI, kan kopieres. Det giver en sikker digital forbindelse mellem en videokilde (pc, dvd mv.) og en fremvisningsenhed (tv, projektor mv.). Indholdet krypteres ved kilden for at forhindre, at der fremstilles ikke-godkendte kopier.
