Control panel overviewThis control panel may differ from your machine depending
on its model. There are various types of control panels.

Type A
1Display Shows the current status and
prompts during an operation.
2(Back) Sends you back to the upper menu
level.

3OK Confirms the selection on the

4 (Cancel) Stops current operation.

(Power)
You can turn the power on and off
with this button. Or wake up from
the power save mode.
6 (Status
LED)
Shows the status of your machine
(see "Understanding the status LED"
on page 91).
7Numeric keypad Use the keypad to enter numbers
and characters.

Eco
Enters eco mode to reduce toner
consumption and paper usage (see
"Eco options" on page 49).

Arrows
Navigates available values by
moving to the next or previous
options.
10 (Menu) Enters menu mode and scrolls
through the available menus.
