FORMATTING A CARD

The supplied card must be formatted with this camera. In addition, a card must be formatted with this camera:

œAfter purchasing, when used for the first time, or

œIf it was formatted using a personal computer or another digital camera. For more information on handling the cards, see “Cautions when handling the cards” on page 24.

The card cannot be reformatted if the write-protect tab is set to the “LOCK” position. Proceed with the reformat procedure after setting the tab to the unlocked position (see page 25).

1 Display the Option Setting Mode Screen (see page 135).

2 Select the reformat icon ö.

3 Press the SET button.

œThe Reformat Screen appears.

4 Select “YES”.

5 Press the SET button.

œReformatting begins.

œDuring reformatting, “REFORMAT” and “DO NOT POWER OFF” are shown on the LCD monitor.

œWhen reformatting is finished, you are returned to the Option Setting Mode Screen.
