CAPTURING STILL IMAGES

Set the camera to the still image

 

 

shooting mode (see page 41).

Press the shutter release button to

 

 

take the picture.

(Press halfway)

 

 

1Point the camera lens at the subject. Slowly press and hold the shutter release button halfway.

œThe target mark [ê] or the focus icon [ë] (focus-lock) appears in the LCD monitor.

œIf the Shooting Setting Screen (see pages 51, 94) or Shooting Information Screen (see page 115) was displayed, it is exited.

2Press the shutter release button all the way.

œThe image is captured.

œThe illumination light remains lit for about 1 second after the image is captured (see page 143).

Target mark

NOTE

About the focus icon and target mark

œThe target mark outlines the area that the camera is using to focus. If the area outlined by the target mark is not the subject you want to focus on, then refocus your subject, for example by changing the shooting angle.

œThe target mark does not appear in the following situations. When the subject is not in focus

When using the self-timer to take a picture (see page 63) When the focus is set to spot focus (see page 104)

When the focus is set to focus range #or $(see page 103)

œWhen the camera focuses on a wide area of the central part of the screen, a large target mark appears.
