Playback sound-actuated recording

Recording automatically starts or pauses by detecting sound from the stereo system (Synchronised recording).

1 Hold down the REC button for 2 seconds or more.

You can perform the same operation by simply press- ing the REC button on the main unit.

2 To perform group recording, hold down the GROUP button for 1 second or more so that "GROUP" is lit.

When group recording is not performed, hold down the GROUP button for 1 second or more so that "GROUP" goes out.

3 Begin playback on the stereo system con- nected to this portable MD.

4 Move the M button toward or to adjust the recording level (page 20).

You can perform the same operation by pressing the or button on the main unit.

5 Press the PAUSE button on the stereo sys- tem to enter the playback pause mode.

Select the starting point for your recording and press the PAUSE button.

6 Press the MODE button repeatedly to select the recording mode (page 29).

7 Press the M button.

zThe unit enters the menu select mode.

zYou can perform the same operation by pressing the SYNC button on the main unit. (At this time, steps 8-9 can be omitted.)

8 Move the M button toward

or to select "S(SYNC)" and press it.

9 Press the M button.

Synchro recording will be paused.

10Begin playback on the stereo system. Re- cording will begin automatically.
