Sound-actuated recording (Mic Syn-

chronised recording)

The unit automatically pauses when the microphone does not pick up any sound for 3 seconds or more. (Pause function does not work for approximately 10 sec- onds after a recording starts.) When the microphone picks up sound again, recording starts automatically.

1 Hold down the REC button for 2 seconds or more.

You can perform the same operation by simply press- ing the REC button on the main unit.

2 To perform group recording, hold down the

GROUP button for 1 second or more so that "GROUP" is lit.

When group recording is not performed, hold down the GROUP button for 1 second or more so that "GROUP" goes out.

3 Move the M button toward or to adjust the recording level (page 20).

The same operation can be performed by pressing

the or button on the main unit.

4 Press the MODE button repeatedly to select the recording mode (page 29).

5 Press the M button.

The unit enters the menu select mode.

6 Move the M button toward

or to select "M(MIC SYNC LEVEL)" and press it.

7 Move the M button toward or to select the recording sensitivity and press it.

H (High): Recording starts when the unit detects -24 dB or more (the unit can start recording from quiet sounds).

L (Low): Recording starts when the unit detects -12 dB or more.

8 Press the M button.

zThe unit enters the menu select mode.

zYou can perform the same operation by pressing the SYNC button on the main unit. (At this time, steps 9-10 can be omitted.)

9 Move the M button toward

or to select "S(SYNC)" and press it.

10Press the M button.

Synchro recording will be paused.

11When a sound, such as person speaking, is picked up by the microphone, recording will begin automatically.

Notes:

zIf the unit starts recording too often from low unwanted noises, set the microphone input to "L(Low)".

zRecording sensitivity can be changed whilst recording.
