proje ct.

differ ent typ es and co lors of t hread t o creat e borde r-lik e finis hes on ga rment s, home
décor, c rafts a nd more .
Set the m achin e for Sti tch #7, # 8 or #9, de pendi ng on the l ook you w ant.
Attach t he Sati n Foot.
If a heav ier wei ght thr ead (su ch as top s titch ing thr ead) wi ll be use d, be sur e to chan ge
the nee dle to a la rger si ze as wel l.

selec tions o n the mac hine: t he stan dard bl ind hem s titch ( for hem s on wove n fabri cs) and
the str etch bl ind hem s titch ( for hem s on stre tch kni t fabri cs).
Set the m achin e to Stit ch #10 fo r the sta ndard b lind he m stitc h, or set t he mach ine to St itch
#11 for the s tretc h blind h em stit ch. Ins ert the a pprop riate n eedle f or the fa bric to b e
hemme d (see th e Needl e, Fabr ic & Threa d Chart f or reco mmend ation s).

Appli qué is do ne by sti tchin g shape d piece s of fabr ic onto a f ounda tion fa bric to f orm a
desig n or patt ern. Thi s techn ique of fers un limit ed crea tive po ssibi litie s.
1.Pre pare th e Appli qué
Apply p aper- backe d fusib le web to t he wron g side of t he Appli qué fab ric, fo llowi ng the
manuf actur er's rec ommen datio ns. Dra w the Appl iqué sh ape, th en cut ou t the sha pe from
the fab ric tha t has bee n fused t o the fus ible we b. Remo ve the pa per bac king. P ositi on the
applique on the fou ndati on fabr ic, the n fuse in p lace.
2.Sti tch the Ap pliqu é
Set the m achin e for sti tch #6, the Zig -Zag Sa tin Sti tch
To stitch t he appl iqué se w so that t he righ t swing o f the sti tch fal ls off the o uter ed ge of the
appliqué, enclo sing th e raw edge of the f abric . The lef t swing o f the sti tch goe s into th e
appliqué fabric .
3.When f inish ed, fol d the hem d own and p ress.
1.Overedge d Seam Finish
Set the machin e for Stitch #7 or # 8 and attach the S atin Foot. Sew, wi th the right sid e of the
stitch at the ed ge of the seam. Trim t he seam edges ev enly.
