the fab ric doe sn't fe ed thro ugh.
To attach t he Darn ing Pla te, lin e it up wit h the hol es on the n eedle p late, t hen pus h down to
snap it i n place . Be sure i t is posi tione d so that t he hole i n the Dar ning Pl ate lin es up wit h
the ope ning fo r the nee dle on th e needl e plate .
Turn the h and whe el towa rd you sl owly, to e nsure t hat the n eedle c lears t he hole i n the
Darni ng Plat e.
Remov e the Dar ning Pl ate to re turn to n ormal s ewing .
Sewin g on a Butt on
Set the m achin e for Sti tch #8 or # 9, depe nding o n the dis tance b etwee n the hol es of the b utton .
Posit ion the f abric a nd butt on unde r the pre sser fo ot.
Lower t he pres ser foo t.
Turn the h andwh eel to ma ke sure t he need le clea rs both l eft and r ight ho les of th e butto n.
Note: I t may be ne cessa ry to cha nge to a di fferen t zig-z ag stit ch sele ction u ntil yo u find
the one t hat is ap propr iate fo r the but ton. To do so, r aise th e needl e out of th e fabri c,
selec t the new s titch . Lower t he pres ser foo t and the n turn th e handw heel to s ee if it cl ears
the hol es of the b utton .
Once yo u have de termi ned the c orrec t zig-z ag stit ch sett ing for t he butt on, sew 1 0 stitc hes.
If a butt on shan k is requ ired, p lace a ne edle on t op of the b utton a nd sew ov er the to p of it,
as show n.
When fi nishe d, pull b oth thr eads to t he back side of t he fabr ic usin g a hand ne edle, t hen tie
toget her to se cure.
