You can enjoy surround sound by connecting 6 speakers (front L/R speakers, center speaker, surround L/R speakers, surround back speaker) and active subwoofer to the receiver. If you do not connect 6 speakers and active subwoofer to the receiver, the receiver offers the means to optimize the signal depending on the number of connected speakers. When you connect 2 speakers to the receiver, connect the speakers to the SPEAKERS FRONT L/R jacks.

•Be sure to match the speaker cords to their appropriate terminal: 3 to 3, # to #, L to L, and R to R jack.
•Use high performance speakers.
•Use suitable sized speakers of similar performance for the front, center, surround and surround back speakers.
•To obtain the best possible surround sound, specify the speaker parameters (size, distance, level, etc.) on page 70.
