SPOTLIGHT*1

This effect prevents people’s faces, for example, from appearing excessively white when shooting subjects lit by strong light.

PORTRAIT (soft portrait)

This effect brings out the subject while creating a soft background for subjects such as people or flowers.

SPORTS (sports lesson)*1

This effect minimizes camera-shake on fast- moving subjects such as in tennis or golf.

BEACH&SKI*1

This effect prevents people’s faces from appearing dark in strong light or reflected light, such as at a beach in midsummer or on a ski slope.

SUNSETMOON (sunset & moon)*2 This effect allows you to maintain atmosphere when you are recording sunsets, general night views, fireworks displays and neon signs.

LANDSCAPE*2

This effect is for when you are recording distant subjects such as mountains, and prevents your camcorder from focusing on glass or metal mesh in windows when you are recording a subject behind glass or a screen.

*1 Your camcorder focuses only on subjects in the middle to far distance.

*2 Your camcorder focuses only on distant subject.

1 Set the mode dial to (Movie) or

(Still).

2 Press SETUP.

3 Use the multi-selector to select

(MANUAL SET).

4 Use the multi-selector to select [PROGRAM AE].

6 Press SETUP.

The SETUP display disappears from the LCD display.

To cancel PROGRAM AE

Set [PROGRAM AE] to [AUTO] in step 5.

Notes

The following functions do not work with

PROGRAM AE:

Color Slow Shutter

OLD MOVIE

When NIGHTSHOT PLUS switch is set to ON, PROGRAM AE does not work. (The indicator flashes.)

You cannot use [SPORTS] to record still images. (The indicator flashes.)
