Most Sony brand digital still and video cameras automatically record still photo and movie files using DCF compliant directory and file names.
If you selected the Digital Camera Folders option, as described on page 69, you might want to have your digital camera’s instruction manual handy in order to check how files and directories are organized for your specific model of digital camera.
DCF stands for “Design Rules for Camera File Systems,” which are specifications established by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA: formerly JEIDA).
