Running a System Test

If The System Test Reports

The System Test lets you check the integrity of your system's components, including:

YAntenna signal

YSystem tuning

YPhone line

YAccess card

Use the System Test if you are experiencing problems with your system.

To run the System Test:

1 Select RUN SYSTEM TEST from the Installation Menu.

2 Select TEST.

The System Test checks all the components automatically, and displays the result of each test.

3 Select RETURN to return to the Installation Menu.

Check your system for any of the following:

YThe access card test will fail if you have not yet called your program providers to establish service. After your service has been established, the access card test should pass.

YCheck that all cables are connected properly to the DSS receiver.

YCheck that the satellite antenna is installed correctly, and that the signal has been optimized. See the manual that came with the satellite antenna for details.

YCheck that the phone line connected to the DSS receiver is working properly.

YCheck that the access card is inserted properly.
