Custom install mode

This receiver features the custom install modes described below. Depending on how you intend to use these features, use of these modes may require additional equipment (available separately) or modification of your listening environment. Please consult the retailer where you purchased this receiver for more information.

INSTALLER mode

•ON

The receiver can receive commands from the RS232C port even when the power is off (standby mode).

•OFF

The receiver does not receive commands from the RS232C port when the power is off (standby mode).

12V TRIG mode

Lets you control external equipment by outputting 12V triggers (STR-DA7ES: 3 outputs, STR-DA4ES: 2 outputs) in conjunction with the receiver's function operations. For example, you can automatically unroll your video screen when you select DVD/ CD.

x12V TRIG.MAIN

(12 V trigger for the main room)

Controls the main room 12V trigger output.

•ON

Lets you turn on output of 12V triggers for the main room when the receiver in the main room is turned on.

•OFF

Lets you turn off output of 12V triggers for the main room even when the receiver in the main room is turned on.

•FUNC

Lets you select which functions will output the 12V triggers for the main room.

Initial settings when 12V. TRIG MAIN is set to ON:

VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2, VIDEO 3, DVD/LD, TV/ SAT, TAPE, MD/DAT, CD/SACD, TUNER, PHONO

To select the functions which will output the 12V triggers

1Press ENTER while “12V. TRIG MAIN [FUNC]” is displayed.

2Press the cursor buttons ( or ) to select a function.

3Turn the jog dial to turn the 12V trigger ON/OFF.

4Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make all necessary changes.

5Press ENTER when you have finished.

x12V TRIG.2ND

(12 V trigger for the 2nd room)

Controls the 2nd room 12V trigger output.

•ON

Lets you turn on output of 12V triggers for the 2nd room when the amplifier in the 2nd room is turned on.

•OFF

Lets you turn off output of 12V triggers for the 2nd room even when the amplifier in the 2nd room is turned off.

•MAIN

Lets you link 2nd room trigger operation to the main room.

x12V TRIG.3RD

(12 V trigger for the 3rd room) (STR-DA7ES only)

Controls the 3rd room 12V trigger output.

•ON

Lets you turn on output of 12V triggers for the 3rd room when the amplifier in the 3rd room is turned on.

•OFF

Lets you turn off output of 12V triggers for the 3rd room even when the amplifier in the 3rd room is turned off.

•MAIN

Lets you link 3rd room trigger operation to the main room.
