1 Remove the fan cover, and then the filter.

Note

The surface of the rubber roller is soft and easily scratched. When cleaning it, be carefull not to scratch and not to pull the surface of the rubber roller.

To clean the cleaning roller used for removing dust accumulated on the paper:

Open the maintenance door, and then clean the roller with a soft cloth or the like moistened with alcohol.

Note

Be sure to hold the maintenance door open while cleaning the roller.

When the following symptoms appears

When the message “HEAD IN COOLING” begins to appear on the information display frequently:

Ventilation holes are provided on the front and rear of the printer. Clean the filter placed on the front panel of the printer. If the filter is dirty, the time required for cooling the thermal head is lengthened and this causes the printing time to become longer.

2 Wash the filter with water to remove the dust.

Note

Do not rub the netting of the filter roughly.

3 After the filter has been dried completely, reset the filter and fan cover on the front panel as they were.

Reset the filter on the fan cover correctly.

Note

Be sure to attach the filter onto the fan cover correctly. If not, dust may accumulate on the printout. This may have an influence on the picture quality.
