3-3 Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What are the various types of memory that the PIIIDM6/ PIIIDM4/PIIIDM3/PIIIDME motherboard can support?

Answer: The PIIIDM6/PIIIDM4/PIIIDM3/PIIIDME has four DIMM slots that sup- port 168-pin, unbuffered 3.3V SDRAM. ECC memory is also supported. Note that while both PC133 and PC100 memory are supported, they will offer the same performance since the 840 chipset has a 100 MHz memory bus. Check the Memory ECC Mode in BIOS to enable the use of ECC. Modules must be installed in pairs (two slots at a time) because interleaved memory technology is used.

Question: How do I update my BIOS?

Answer: It is recommended that you do not upgrade your BIOS if you are experiencing no problems with your system. Updated BIOS files are located on our web site at http://www.supermicro.com. Please check our BIOS warning message and the info on how to update your BIOS on our web site. Also, check the current BIOS revision and make sure it is newer than
