Selecting the listening source

A brief press on a source button selects the corres pondingdeviceaslisteningsource.Thesignalfrom this sourceisthenreproducedbythesystem.Ifthesys temis switchedoff,itisautomaticallyswitchedonifyo upressa sourcebutton.

Youcanonlyremotelycontrolthatdevicewhichis cur rently selected as the listening source. The listen ing sourcesareselectedusingthefollowingbuttonson the remotecontrolhandset:

CD 820 M CD player or DVD 820 M DVD player

Togglesbetween Tape 1/ Tape 2

The PT 820 M’sintegraltuner

Sourcedeviceconnectedtothepreamplifier input AUX / PHONO

Toggles between the source devices which are connected to the preamplifier inputs AUX / TV and STB (if connected to the DD 820 M).

Notes:

•When you change sources, the newly selected sourceisdisplayedbrieflyonthescreen.Thescre en thenrevertstoadevicespecificstandarddisplay.

• If your system includes an

MM or MC module,

AUX / Pisthephonoinput.

 

•The signal from the currently selected source is present at the TAPE record outputs, and can be recordedontocassetteorotherformoftape.

Volume control

Every time you press one of the

VOLUME

buttonsbriefly,thevolumeisreduced(

-)or

 

increased( +)by1.5dB.

 

 

 

 

If you hold one of the

VOLUME buttons

 

pressed in for longer than about 1second,

 

the volume changes continuously until you

 

releasethebuttonagain.
