Safety Notes

Foryourownsafetypleasebesuretoreadrightth rough theseoperatinginstructions.Itisespeciallyimpo rtantto observethefollowingsafetynotes:

1.The system may only be operated in a dry indoor room. Ensure that the equipment is kept out of the reachofchildren.

2.Liquidorforeignbodiesmustneverbeallowedinsi de the equipment. Protect the system from drips and splashesofwater;neverplaceflowervasesorothe r vesselscontainingfluidsontopofthecase.

If any liquid or foreign body should penetrate a machine despite your best efforts, disconnect the mainsplugatthewallsocketimmediately,andhave theunitcheckedbyanauthorised servicework shop.

3.This equipment should never be operated without proper supervision. This applies to all electrical equipment.

4.Ifthesystemisnottobeusedforalongperiod, we recommend that you isolate it from the mains by pullingouttheplugatthewallsocket.

5.If the equipment gets very cold (e.g. when being transported)condensationmayforminsideit.Please

donotswitchitonuntilithashadplentyoftime to warm up to room temperature, so that any con densationevaporatescompletely.

6.Whensettinguptheequipmentensurethattheflow of cooling air to the underside and rear of the PA 820 Misnotobstructed thecoolingslots must

befree.Ifyouwishtosetuptheunitonashelf, ina cupboard or similar, we recommend that the back panelflapofthe PA 820 Mshouldbeleftopen.

Theremustalsobeatleast5cmfreespacetoboth

sidesoftheequipment,andatleast15cmfreespa ce above and behind the units, so that the heat producedbythesystemisdissipatedeffectively.

The compartment housing the system must not be sealed off by doors!

Thefanatthebackofthe

PA 820 Mmustneverbe

blockedbycablesetc.Ensurethatthefanbladesa

re

freetorotate,andcannotbeobstructed.

 

Any heat build-up will shorten the life of the equipment, and could be a source of danger!

7. Thesystem shouldbesetup on a flat, rigid, leve

l

base.

 

8.The power supply required for this equipment is printedonthemainssocket.

The machine must never be connected to any other form of power supply.

9.Themainsleadmustbedeployedinsuchawaythat there is no danger of damage from furniture, or peopletreadingonit.

Takeparticularcarewithmainsplugs,distributio n panelsandtheconnectionsonthebackpanelsof themachines.

Neverexertundueforceonthemainsplug.

10.Thesystemmustbesetupinsuchawaythatthere is no chance of anyone especially children touchingthebackpanelconnections.

11.The M LINK lead carries voltage! Don’t touch the connectorpins,anddonottouchtheconnectorswit h anymetalobject.

12.With the exception of the connections and procedures describedintheseinstructions,no work

ofanykindmaybecarriedoutonthemachinebyth e user.

13.The equipment should only ever be opened by a qualifiedtechnician. Repairs and fuse replacements shouldbeentrustedtoanauthorised specialist workshop.

14.Iftheunitisdamaged,orifyoususpectthatiti snot functioning correctly, immediately disconnect the mainsplugatthewallsocketandaskanauthorised specialistworkshoptocheckit.

15.Care of the equipment

Always disconnect the system from the mains supplybeforecleaningit.

Thecasesurfacesshouldbewipedcleanwitha soft,dryclothonly.

Never use abrasive or solventbased cleaning agents.

Beforeswitchingtheunitonagain,checkcarefully

that no shortcircuits exist at the terminals, and thatyouhavenotdisturbedanyconnections.
