The 'Alarm menu' is opened in tuner mode by a long pressonthe button.

Ifyouopenthemenu,thealarmsettings(preset,v olume andloudspeakers)aresetautomatically.Thevalues set (andheard)inthismenuforalarmvolume,alarmpr eset andalarmloudspeakersareindependentofthecurre nt settingsoutsidethismenu.

The tuner’s default setting is narrowband STEREO

('MODE NAR'). In this reception mode interference from adjacent transmitters is effectively suppressed, an d outstandingreproductionqualityisachievedevenu nder difficultreceptionconditions.

Ifreceptionconditionsareverygood,andifthere

areno

transmitters close to the selected station which co

uld

cause interference, then switching to the

'MODE WIDE'

receptionmodecanprovideevenbetterresultsint

erms

of sound quality, at the cost of necessarily reduce

selectivity.

 

 

 

Ifyouencounteraudibleinterferencewiththisset

ting,we

recommendthatyouswitchbackto

'MODE NAR'.

 

If you wish to pick up stations close to an extreme

ly

powerfullocaltransmitter,orifyouareusingah

ighlevel

cableconnection,intermodulationeffects (whistlin

gand

twittering sounds) may occur. In such cases we recommend that you switch on the aerial attenuator:

screendisplay: 'MODE ATTEN'.

Ifyouwanttolistentoveryweakorverydistant stations which can only be picked up with severe background hiss, it is possible to switch to MONO. This reduce s backgroundnoiseconsiderably.

Note:

Operation:
