11.Install a new belt around the large traction pulley.
12.Loop the belt over the engine pulley, ensuring that the belt is on the inside of the belt guide (Figure 40).
13.Tip the snowthrower forward and block it so that it cannot fall.
14.Hook the spring into the notch in the bottom edge of the side plate (Figure 42).
15.Replace the bottom cover with the four screws.
16.Set the snowthrower upright.
17.Install the auger/impeller drive belt around the large auger/impeller pulley and engine pulley, ensuring that the belt is on the inside of the idler pulley and belt guide (Figure 40).
18.Adjust the belt guide so that there is 1/8 in. (0.3 cm) of clearance between the belt and the guide, and secure the belt guide.
19.Install the belt cover.
Replacing the Traction Belt —
When traction belt (Figure 43) becomes worn, oil– soaked or otherwise damaged, belt replacement is required.

1.Pull wire off spark plug and make sure it does not contact the plug accidentally.
2.Remove (3) screws holding belt cover in place and set cover aside (Figure 44).
