Symptom

Cannot switch on the power.
Cannot operate the front panel-

No picture is displayed.
The Recorder is not activated
even if the Standby key is

The Recorder is not terminated
even if the Standby key is

Cannot record.
Cannot stop recording.
Cannot perform Internal Timer
recording.
Cannot perform Alarm
recording.
No voice or sound recorded.
Cannot perform search and
playback.
No screen indication displayed.
On-screen time is not accurate.
System failure indicator does not
extinguish.
The indication "Disk may have
failed" is displayed on the
screen.

Possible Cause

The supplied power cord is not
connected to the Digital Video Recorder’s
Power inlet and wall AC outlet.
Keys are locked.
Power is not switched on.
Cables are not correctly connected.
Main power is not switched on.
• The Standby key is not continuously
pressed for 1 second or more.
• Recording mode is set to "STOP" and
no available hard disk time remains.
Key Lock is set to ON.
• The Recorder is in General recording
mode.
Incorrect timer setting.
Recording mode is set to "SERIES."
Alarm input cord not correctly
connected.
Alarm not set to "VALID."
• Each Recording Mode Audio Setting
selection not set to ON.
Hard disk is initialized.
Not recorded on the hard disk.
• Playback during Recording is set to
"OFF."
Display setting set to "HIDE."
Time not adjusted.
Power was switched off for a long period
of time.
• Check to confirm the contents of failure
log (refer to p. 25).
• Hard disk format data may have been
damaged.
• Hard disk may have failed. Referring to
p. 28; "When the Failure Screen is
displayed," check the symptom.
Connect the power cord.
Release Key Lock.
Switch on the power.
Connect the cable correctly.
Switch on the main power.
• Hold down the Standby key for 1
second or more.
• Change the Overwrite Recording
setting to "RE-REC" or "SERIES."
Reset Key Lock
• Stop General recording and press the
Timer key.
Set timer operating times correctly.
• Change the Recording mode to
"STOP" or "RE-REC."
Connect cords correctly.
Set the Alarm setting to "VALID."
Set Audio setting to "ON."
• Search and playback cannot be
performed without recording data.
Perform recording.
• Playback cannot be performed during
recording. Set the Playback during
Recording selection to "ON"
Set Display setting to "DISP."
Adjust times.
If no main power is supplied
continuously for 30 days or more,
clock data will be lost. In such cases,
update times again.
Remove the cause of the failure.
• If the situation cannot be improved,
contact your TOA dealer.
