This sets whether or not the
DSN is requested when send-
ing a document from the ma-
chine using the Internet FAX
function.
DSN, Delivery Status Notifica-
tion, is used to notify the
sender of the status of the
message that has been sent.
The status, such as failed de-
livery, delayed delivery, suc-
cessful delivery, or the
gatewaying of a message into
an environment that may not
support DSNs, is notified when
an E-mail with the DSN request
is sent.
NOTE:
The DSN may not reply
when the Incoming E-mail
server of the recipient does
not support or generate the
DSN. In this case, the error
logs are retained in the E-
mail server of the recipient.
These error logs may be an
obstacle to the mail server.
Therefore, it is recom-
mended to select OFF for
this function if you are not
sure that the E-mail server of
the recipient supports the
DSN.
