Automatic Digital Code Security
Toavoid unauthorized calls on your phone, a Digital Code feature was added
tothe
EXI 916/917 phone.This Digital Code is shared only between the Handset
andBase Unit. The Code is set automatically when you first use the phone.
✻Pleaserefer to the foldout in front of your operating guide for key positions.
Tochange the Digital Code:
1. Placethe Handset in the Base Unit.
2. Pressthe
page/find buttonon the Base Unit.
TheHandset begins beeping.
3. Remove the Handset from the Base
Unitwhile it’s still beeping.
Whenthe beeping stops, wait 5
seconds,then return the Handset to
theBase Unit.
Thecharge LED on the Base Unit will
blinkto indicate that the Digital
SecurityCode is set to one of the more
than65,000 codes.
✻Ifthe Base Unit loses power while the Handset is off the Base, the Digital Code
maybe erased. When this happens, the Handset will not function.
Toreestablish communication between the Handset and Base Unit:
1. Restorepower to the Base Unit.
2. Placethe Handset back on the Base Unit.
3. TheCharge LED on the Base Unit will blink to indicate that the Digital
SecurityCode is set.
