The CO Line selected will depend upon the Line Preference set in programming mode and if there are lines in use. Dial the phone number and the LCD displays the digits one by one. The timer begins to count. The LCD will display the same as when making an outgoing call with the handset (see previous examples).

NOTE: Pressing the [HEADSET] key without the headset plugged in will result in a double beep warning (the headset mode will not activate). NOTE: The unit will always dial Tone numbers unless the dial mode is

changed to Pulse in programming.

Switching Between Handset, Handsfree and Headset

The telephone will allow switching between the handset, handsfree and headset modes. To switch from the hand- set to handsfree, press the [SPEAKER] key. The Speaker LED will light. The handset may be placed in the cradle, but does not have to be.

To switch from handset to headset, press the [HEADSET] key. The Headset LED will light. The handset may be placed in the cradle, but does not have to be.

To switch back to handset when it is in the cradle, lift the handset. The hands- free or headset will be disabled. To switch back to the handset when it is out of the cradle, press the [SPEAKER] key (if in handsfree mode) or the [HEADSET] key (if in headset mode). The handsfree or headset will disable.

NOTE: When the phone is on-hook and idle, pressing a [CO Line] key will acti- vate the previous talking mode (hands-

free or headset). The default is hands- free mode.

Call Timer Operation

The timer will automatically start to count when a CO Line is picked up. It will stop counting automatically when the CO Line is hung up. The LCD will continue to dis- play the time for approximately 10-sec- onds afterwards. The LCD will display the elapsed time in minutes and seconds for the first hour (up to 59 minutes and

59 seconds), then begin counting again at 00:00. The timer will start over when- ever the CO Line status is changed (such as placed on hold, or flash activat- ed, etc.).
