Local Area Network , administr ators shoul d comple te the network settings in the
configuration page including the correct subnet mask and IP address of gateway and
DNS. As k for the netw ork ad ministr ator or In ternet se rvice provider f or the deta il
information. By default Network Camera will need a dministrator's installation every
time it r eboo ts. If the network setting s are su re to wor k all th e time, disable the insta ll
option. Refer to “Netw o rk settings ” in system configura ti on page for de ta ils. Once a ny
setting is entere d incorre ctly and th us hangs Ne twork Camer a, res tore the fac tory
settings according to the steps in troubleshooting.

Add password to protect from offense from strangers

Since the administrator’s password is blank by default, Network Camera will not ask for
any password. However the administrator should change the password as soon as
possible to prot e ct fro m net wor k in tru de rs. On ce t he admi nistrator’ s pa sswo rd i s s av ed,
Network Camera always needs user name and password before access. The
administrator can setup at most twenty user accounts. Each user is able to access
Network Camera except for system configuration. Some critical functions are limited
only for administrator s such as s yst em confi gu rat ion , us er admi nist r at ion and soft wa re
upgrade. The user name of the administrator is assigned to “root” permanently. Once
the pass w ord is change d, the browse r will disp lay an authen tication wi ndow to ask for
the new password. There i s no way to d iscover adm in istrato r’s passw o rd. If the
password is forgotten, only re storing factory de f a ults can help.
