Problem Suggestion
The announcement
message is not clear.
When recording the announcement, make sure you speak in a normal tone of voice about nine
inches from the telephone base.
Make sure there is no background noise (television , music, trafc, etc.) when recording.
The answering system
does not record
messages.
Make sure the answering system is on.
Make sure the memory of the answering system is no t full.
The messages on the
answering system are
incomplete.
If a caller leaves a very long message, part of it may be lost when the system disconnects the
call after four minutes.
If the caller pauses for more than ve consecutive sec onds, the system stops re cording and
disconnects the call.
If the memory on the system becomes full during a message, the system stops recording and
disconnects the call.
If the caller’s voice is very soft, the syste m may stop recording and disconne ct the call.
The answering system
does not respond to
remote commands.
Make sure your remote access code is correc t (page 42).
Make sure you are calling from a touch-tone telephone. When diali ng a number, there should
be tones. If there are clicks, then it is not a touch-tone telephone and cannot ac tivate the
answering system.
The answering system may not detect the remote acc ess code when the announcement is
playing. Wait until the announcement is over before e ntering the code.
There may be interference on the teleph one line you are using. Press the keypad keys rm ly
when dialing.
