I cannot dial out • Make sure you have a dial tone before d ialing. The handset may take a second or t wo to nd
the telephone base and produce a dial ton e This i s normal Wait an extra second before
dialing
• Make sure your phone i s set to t he correct d ial mode for the type of service that you have
(pulse or touchtone) Refer to the Handset Setting section of this user’s manual to set the dial
mode
• If the other phones in your hom e are having the is sue, the problem is in your wiring or l ocal
service Contact your local teleph one company
• Eliminate any background noise No ise from a television, radio or other appliance may caus e
the phone not to dial out properly. If you cannot eliminate the background noise, rst try muting
the handset before dialing , or dialing from an other room in your ho me with less backgrou nd
noise
