About the Firmware
The “firmware” is a small piece of software built into the CRW6416SX drive, and is used to control its basic operation. Since it resides in flash memory, it can be overwritten and updated.
To ensure the correct operation of the CRW6416SX drive, updates to the firmware will be made available. You can find information about the most recent firmware for the drive on YAMAHA

Determining the firmware version of the CRW6416SX drive (in Windows 95/98)
Go to Control Panel System Device Manager tab,
SCSI ID number
When updating the CRW6416SX drive’s firmware, you will need to enter its SCSI ID number. You can check the number here.
