CHAPTER 5

AP Mode

5.1 Overview

This chapter discusses how to configure settings while your NBG4115 is set to AP

Mode. Many screens that are available in Router Mode are not available in AP

Mode.

Note: See Chapter 6 on page 63 for an example of setting up a wireless network in

AP mode.

Use your NBG4115 as an AP if you already have a router or gateway on your

network. In this mode your device bridges a wired network (LAN) and wireless

LAN (WLAN) in the same subnet. See the figure below for an example.

5.2 Setting your NBG4115 to AP Mode

None of the LEDs turn on. 24.3 NBG4115 Access and Login I dont know the IP address of my NBG4115. I forgot the password. I cannot see or access the Login screen in the Web Configurator. I can see the Login screen, but I cannot log in to the NBG4115. 24.4 Internet Access I cannot access the Internet. The Internet connection is slow or intermittent. 24.5 Resetting the NBG4115 to Its Factory Defaults You will lose all of your changes when you push the RESET button. 24.6 Wireless Router/AP Troubleshooting I cannot access the NBG4115 or ping any computer from the WLAN (wireless AP or router). I set up URL keyword blocking, but I can still access a website that should be blocked. I can access the Internet, but I cannot open my network folders. I can access the Web Configurator after I switched to AP mode.
