7.7Power Management Setup

The Power Management Setup allows you to save energy of your system effectively. It will shut down the hard disk and turn OFF video display after a period of inactivity.

zACPI Function

This function should be enabled only in operating systems that support ACPI. Currently, only Windows 2000/ME/XP supports this function. If you want to use the Suspend to RAM function,

Make sure this field is enabled then select “S3 (STR)” in the ACPI Suspend Type “field.

zACPI Suspend Type

This field is used to select the type of Suspend mode.

S1

(POS)

Enables the Power on Suspend function.

S3

(STR)

Enables the Suspend to RAM function.

zPower Management

This field allows you select the type (or degree) of power saving By changing the length of idle time that elapses before the Suspend mode and HDD Power Down fields are activated.
