System Beeps

The system will beep before initializing video and does not always indicate an error. However, the system will notify you of specific errors using beep patterns. A beep pattern is a meaningful series of beeps and pauses, such as a 1-3-1-1 pattern, when the system beeps once, briefly pauses, beeps 3 times and briefly pauses, beeps once and briefly pauses, and beeps one last time to indicate a DRAM refresh failure.

The following table displays the beep patterns that you may encounter and the error that is being reported.
