Setting the distinctive ring

1From the control panel, press Fax.

2Press Menu.

3Press or repeatedly until FAX DEFAULTS is selected.

4Press .

5Press or repeatedly until Distinct Ring is selected.

6Press .

7Press or repeatedly until the setting you want is selected.

8Press or to turn the setting on or off.

9Press to save the setting.

Setting the Station ID

1From the control panel, press Fax.

2Press Menu.

3Press or repeatedly until FAX DEFAULTS is selected.

4Press .

5Press or repeatedly until Station ID is selected.

6Press .

7Enter the fax machine number, and press to save.

8Enter a name for the fax machine using the keypad, and then press to save. For more information, see Entering characters on page 50.

Note:

The name for the fax machine should not exceed 20 characters.

The MFP does not support double–byte characters for names, such as Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. You cannot enter a name using these languages.

9Press Stop to return to the Ready prompt.
