INSTALLATION

Free-standing and shelf installations must be within in reach of the network cabling and meet the requirements listed below:

A single phase 120Vac, 15A, grounded power receptacle must be located within 7 feet of the location.

If you use a shelving unit, it must be able to support 30 pounds of static weight for each device in the stack.

The temperature for the selected location must be maintained between 5° and 50°C, and fluctuate less than 10°C per hour.

The following sections provide instructions for stacking the SEHI or installing it as a stand-alone device. Select one of the following subsections and perform the steps that are applicable to your installation needs.

3.2.1Stacking the SEHI

The rear panel of the SEHI has an Interconnect Bus Out Port (male connector). You daisy chain units together using Cabletron Systems’ HubSTACK Interconnect cables. Table 3-1 describes each cable.
