Example 4: View ties by selecting an input

The following steps show an example of viewing the video and audio, audio-only, and video-only ties in the current configuration by selecting an input. The example shows the front panel indications that result from your actions.

This example assumes that you have performed example 1, example 2, and example 3.

1. Audio/video switchers only — Select both video and audio for viewing (figure 3-19).

Press the button to cycle through the selections.

Video-only switcher — The Output 1, Output 3, and Output 8 LEDs light to indicate the ties created in examples 1, 2, and 3.

LEDs light to indicate the video ties created in examples 1, 2, and 3.

The audio LED blinks to indicate that for at least one tie audio is routed from a different source or not tied at all (audio breakaway).

Steps 3 and 4 can be performed on an audio/video switcher only. If you have a video-only switcher, allow the 5-second input and output button timeout to deselect the input.
