Chapter 5 • Using Windows® Control Software

System 4xi Help

The fastest way to learn what each Windows® function does is through the Help menus. At any time, help is available by double-clicking the Help icon (previous section), pulling down the Help menu or by pressing F1. This will bring up the Help menu (like the example shown below) to allow you to step through the screen examples. Click on the items on each screen to display a description.

_________ As with all Windows® Help menus, clicking on the underlined words will give

more detailed help.

After viewing the Help menus, use the software to setup your System 4xi.

Specific examples are given below.

Each function on the front panel of your System 4xi is emulated in the software panel in the window. Also, the software was written to operate with different models of switchers. Therefore, any function that is not available on your model will be inactive in the window. A function is inactive when it appears dull, or gray, and does not respond to the mouse cursor.
