Install a New Operating System and Driver (Red Hat Linux 6.2)
NOTE: To install the qla2x00 driver, the following requirements must be met:
■For Red Hat Linux 6.2, you must have created the qla2x00 driver floppy disk 1(see section 9.2.1).
■The QLA23xx HBA must be installed in the system before installing the qla2x00 driver.
■The QLA23xx HBA must be the only boot device in the system during driver installation.
Perform the following steps to install the Red Hat Linux operating system and the qla2x00 driver for the first time. These steps outline the procedure when installing from an IDE
1.Insert the Red Hat Installation disk and boot the computer.
2.When the computer comes up, the welcome window and boot prompt display. If you want to continue in text mode, type the following command. Otherwise, the installation continues in graphical mode.

3.When the system prompts for the driver disk, insert the floppy disk 1 created in section 9.2.1. Tab to OK, then press ENTER.
NOTE: If you are installing Red Hat Linux 7.0 or later, you must complete the operating system installation, then continue with the instructions in sections 9.4.1 and 9.4.2 to add the driver.
4.After selecting the language and keyboard settings, the system prompts for the installation method. Select Local CDROM, then tab to OK.
5.When the system asks for devices, select Add Device. Select SCSI on the following screen. Tab to OK.
6.When the list of devices displays, select QLogic QLA2100/2200/2300 qla2x00 V4.xx Driver. The system loads the driver.
7.If the system detects the device for the selected module, the device is listed in the next screen under I have found the following devices. Select Done.
8.Continue the Red Hat installation with the loaded qla2x00 driver. Restart the system when the installation is complete.
