Cannot Establish a Local (Out-of-Band) Management Session
If you are unable to establish a local (out-of-band) management session with the switch through the terminal port on the front panel, do the following:
Check that the RJ-45 connector of the serial management cable is securely connected to the Console port on the switch, and the DB- 9 connector is connected to the RS-232 port on the terminal or personal computer.
Check that the operating parameters on the terminal or the terminal emulation program have been set correctly. The settings for the RJ-45 serial terminal port are located in “Starting a Local Management Session” on page 64.
