1.3 Connection to Power

CAUTION Always use an AC outlet that accepts a three-pronged plug. Otherwise, static electricity may be generated and there will be danger of electric shock.

Connect to an AC outlet as follows:

1Check that the power switch on the printer is set to OFF.

2Connect the connector of the power cord to the power inlet on the printer.

3 Insert the plug of the power cord in the AC outlet.

1.4 Connection to a Computer

An interface cable is necessary for connecting the printer to a computer. To connect them, proceed as follows:

1Turn off both power switches of the printer and the computer.

2Connect the connector of one end of the interface cable to the interface connector at the lower side of the printer and secure it correctly.

3Connect the connector of the other end of the interface cable to the interface connector on the computer and secure it correctly.
