5.2Selecting a Finishing Setting

Various settings for sorting and finishing copies are available.

Tip

The Finishing settings can be used together with other functions. For details, re- fer to the “Function Combination Table” in the Administrator Operations volume.

The following eight ways of finishing are available.

Non-sorting (“Non-Sort” setting)

Crisscross non-sorting (“Non-Sort” setting)

Sorting (“Sort” setting)

Crisscross sorting (“Sort” setting)

Stapling (Corner Staple)

Stapling (2-Point Staple)

Hole-punching (2-Hole punch)

Hole-punching (3-Hole punch)

Note

Crisscross non-sorting and crisscross sorting are only available if the finisher is not installed.

Automatic “Sort”/“Non-Sort” Setting Selection

When a document is loaded into the duplexing document feeder, the “Non-Sort” setting is automatically selected if the document consists of only one page, and the “Sort” setting is automatically selected if the document consists of 2 or more pages.

Whether or not the “Sort” or “Non-Sort” setting is automatically selected can be specified using the “Intelligent Sorting” function on the User’s Choice: 2 screen. For more details, refer to “Specifying Default Settings (“User’s Choice” Functions)” of “Utility Mode Operations” in the Administrator Operations volume.
