Making/Answering Calls

2MbN: Select the desired entry.

Pause (for PBX/long distance service users)

A pause is sometimes required when making calls using a PBX or long distance service. When storing a calling card access number and/or PIN in the phonebook, a pause is also needed (page 29).

Example: If you need to dial the line access number “9” when making outside calls with a PBX:

19 a MDN (Pause)

2Dial the phone number. a MN

Note:

RA 3.5 second pause is inserted each time MDN (Pause) is pressed.

Answering calls

1Lift the handset and press MN or MZN when the unit rings.

R To answer a cellular call, you can also press MCELLN.

2When you finish talking, press MOFFN or place the handset on the base unit or charger.

Any key answer: You can answer the call by pressing any dial key.

Auto talk: You can answer calls simply by lifting the handset (page 37).

Temporary handset ringer off: You can turn

the ringer off temporarily by pressing MN.

Using the Smart function key

When the indicator flashes rapidly, press

M N.

RYou can answer the call even if the handset is placed on the base unit or charger (page 15).

You can finish talking by pressing MOFFN without lifting up the handset.

Adjusting the ringer volume

Handset

Press MDN or MCN repeatedly to select the desired volume while ringing.

Base unit

Press MjN or MkN repeatedly to select the desired volume while ringing.

RTo turn the ringer off, press and hold MkN until the unit beeps.

Useful features during a call

Hold

1Press MMENUN during an outside call.

2 MbN: Holda MSELECTN

3To release hold on the cellular line: Press MCELLN.*1

R Another handset user can take the call by pressing MCELLN.*1

*1 If you press MCELLN and the selection list is displayed, select the desired cellular line and press

MSELECTN.

To release hold on the landline: Press MN.

R Another handset user can take the call by pressing MN.

Note:

RAfter holding for 10 minutes, the call is disconnected.

Mute

1Press MMUTEN during a call.

2To return to the call, press MMUTEN.

Note:

RMMUTEN is a soft key visible on the display during a call.
