Scanner is Not Detected

Cannot Communicate with Scanner

Code = 36

An error has occurred. (Sense Code=xx, Additional Sense Code=xx, Additional Code Condition=xx)

Cause

USB cable not connected correctly.

Scanning unit is locked (lock switch is not released)

USB cable not connected correctly.

Memory is insufficient for the required volume of the scanned image data.

Lock not released.

The lamp is burnt out.

Plug-in Module CS-U is already installed.

Another error has occurred.

Response

Use the USB cable to connect the Macintosh to the scanner properly.

Release the lock switch at the base of the scanner

Ensure the USB cable is securely fastened to the Macintosh and scanner.

Reduce the scan area to the minimum possible scope and lower the resolution and magnification settings for the output device.

Close all application programs that are running other than Canon Photo.

Increase the memory allocated to Canon Photo.

After releasing the lock, temporarily disconnect the USB cable. Reconnect it and restart Plug-in Module CS-U 3.3.

Contact your nearest Canon Customer Care Center.

Reinstall after emptying the Trash.

Note down the Sense Code, Additional Sense Code and error message and contact the nearest Canon Customer Care Center.
