NORMAL RECORDING

Normal Recording

Before starting

œTurn the power on to all devices used.

œLoad a cassette tape with erasure-prevention tab.

NOTES:

œIf in the (VARIOUS SET 2) menu, TAPE IN MODE is set to “REC”, recording will start after the tape thread has been checked.

1Press the REC/PLAY SPEED l (or j) button to set the recording speed mode.

øThe recording speed mode is displayed on the digital display.

2Press the REC button.

øThe record indicator mlight.

øRecording starts.

øIf the tape end is reached while recording, “OFF” is displayed on the digital display and the unit goes into the mode set at the “TAPE END MODE” line in the (RECORD SET) menu.

NOTES:

œIf the tape end is reached during recording, the memory contents will be erased without being recorded.

œIf in the (BUZZER SET) menu, TAPE END is set to “Y”, the buzzer will be heard as long as “OFF” is displayed on the digital display.

œTo cancel the “OFF” display, press the STOP, EJECT, FF, REW or PLAY button.

3To stop recording, press the STOP button.

øWhile the contents of the memory are recorded

onto the tape, “Ending” (Sweep out mode display) flashes and m(Recording mode display) is displayed on the digital display.

NOTES:

œA tape recorded on this VCR cannot be played back on other models of VCRs.

œIf you press on the REC button and the loaded cassette has no erasure-prevention tab, the VCR will eject the cassette.

œThis VCR will first store the recorded images in its internal memory before recording them to the tape. Due to this method of recording blocks of images, the tape counter will not operate continuously. (The tape counter will operate for about 9 seconds, then stop (the duration until it starts again depends on the recording speed mode setting) and start again.)

When recording is started, the counter will only start operating after the memory is full.

Record Pause

Recording can be interrupted temporarily.

1Press the STILL/PAUSE button during recording.

øThe Pause/Still indicator Nblinks.

NOTE:

œThe image appears on-screen but it is not recorded.

2To resume recording, press the REC button, or press the STILL/PAUSE button again.
