About temporary HDD storage/Time Shift video bar
As soon as you turn on this recorder, the currently selected TV programme will be stored in the temporary hard disk storage called ‘TSB’ (Time Shift Buffer), up to 6 hours of programmes can be stored.
The Time Shift video bar will appear on the screen. It indicates the status and timing of the TV programmes stored in the temporary HDD storage. You can choose to display or hide the video bar by pressing the m on the remote control.
The Time Shift video bar consists of the following information:
aRemaining space in the temporary storage.
bClips that are selected to be recorded onto the HDD (marked Red).
cThe TV programme start time. Once it has exceeded 6 hours, the beginning of the contents will be deleted and the start time will be changed accordingly.
dCurrent position and time of playback.
eEnd time of the buffer.
WARNING!
The temporary HDD can only store up to six hours of TV programmes. All the contents will be cleared when you press
In addition, executing the following actions will also clear the contents in the temporary HDD storage:
–Press DV or REC MODE on the remote control.
–Enter to { Setup } option in the setup menu.
This will clear Time Shift Video Bar
Press OK to continue

i)To proceed and clear the contents in the temporary HDD storage, select { Press OK to continue } in the menu and press OK on the remote control, OR
ii)Select { Cancel } in the menu and press OK on the remote control to abort.
If you want to keep the contents, you have to ‘mark’ the contents by pressing REC on the remote control at the beginning of the scene you wish to start recording and key in the total recording time required. The ‘marked’ contents will be recorded onto the HDD, see page 30.
Helpful Hint:
–You can only mark up to a maximum of 12 programmes in the TSB. If you try to press REC button again, { TSB Recording Markings Full } will be displayed.
