Welcome to your VCR owner’s manual.
This manual describes the VR1010BP and the VR810BPH. These models have similar features and appearances; differences between the VR1010BP and VR810BPH are noted when applicable. The menus of the VR1010BP are shown in this manual, and they may differ slightly from the VR810BPH menus. The VR1010BP is illustrated in this book.

This VCR, equipped with a High Quality (HQ) System, is compatible with existing Video Home System (VHS) equipment. Philips Consumer Electronics recommends that you use only video cassette tapes that are labelled
with the mark or the mark. The use of other tapes may result in poor picture quality and exces- sive deposits on the video heads, which may not be covered by the warranty if damage occurs.
Note to the Cable TV System Installer: This reminder is provided to call the Cable TV system installer’s attention to Article
of the National Electrical Code, which provides guidelines for proper grounding – in particular, specifying that the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as possible.
