2 Installing the HDC-401EX Driver in the Computer

（Windows 98/98SE）

If your computer is running Windows 98/98SE, the HDC-401EX driver must be installed in the computer first.Install the HDC-401EX driver in the computer through the procedure specified below.

●Once the driver has been installed properly, you can skip this procedure from the next time you connect your HDC-401EX to the computer.

●If you have any difficulty in driver installation. Please access following URL. http://www.hitachi-ls.co.jp/e/index.html

●If your computer is running Windows Me/2000/XP, the driver will be installed automatically, so this procedure need not be performed.

Installing the HDC-401EX Driver (for Windows 98/98SE) ～ Restarting the Computer

Do not connect the camera to the computer until the software installation is complete. Also, be sure to close all other applications beforehand.

1 Start the computer and set the CD-ROM supplied with your HDC-401EX in the computer,s CD-ROM drive.

The installation menu is displayed automatically.

●If the installation menu is not displayed, open My Computer and double- click Setup(.exe) under HDC-401EX.
