Testing to See if the Camera Functions Properly

Toreleasetheshutterwhenthereisnofilminthecamera,proceedasfollows. [Fordetailedinstructionsonparticularpoints,refertothepagenumbershown inparentheses.)

1.Insertabatteryintothecamera(p.21).

2.Setthemultiple-exposureleverto“MULTI”(p.50).

(Ifyouhavejustpurchasedthecameraandthevinyltubeisstillonthetake-up spool,thereisnoneedtomovethemultiple-exposurelever.)

3.Settheshutterspeeddialtoanyshutterspeedotherthanthe0redmark (p.27).

4.Turnthefilmadvancecrankuntilitstops.

5.Aligntheshutterreleaselockringwiththewhitedotandreleasetheshutter

(p.30).

When ready to load the camera with film, returnthemultiple-exposureleverto itsnormalposition.Ifthisisnotdone,thefilmwillnotadvance.

If the shutter is released without a battery in the camera, themirrorwilllockin theupposition.Toreturnthemirrortoitsnormalposition,depressthebattery checkbutton(21)asfarasitwillgo.

If the shutter is released with the shutter speed dial set to the red 0 position, themirrorwilllockintheupposition.Tolowerthemirror,turntheshutterspeed dialineitherdirection(Bor1/1000sec.).

Attimesitmaybenecessarytorotatethefilmadvancecranktwofullturnsto cocktheshutterwhenanemptytake-upspool(withoutitsoriginalvinyltube)is inthecamera.
