0 Exposure Compensation

TheLEDPanelincorporatedintothePD PrismFindersimplifiesexposurecom- pensation,assuringperfectexposures everytime. Each LED represents a fullstopincrementandplusandminus signsareindicatedwithintheview- findertoassistincompensating. TheuppermostLEDrepresentsthree ormorestopsoverexposure,andthe lowermost LED represents three or morestopsunderexposure.

e Compensation Hints

1.Forstronglyback-litsubjectsout- doors,settheexposureto+1(thered LEDdirectlyabovethegreenone).

2.Tophotographapersonindoors, seatednexttoawindowandstrongly back-lit,setexposureto+2.

3.Whenphotographinginteriors,to compensateforthebrightinteriorlights, setexposureto+1or+2.

5.Whenphotographingabrightlylit subject against a dark background, suchasanightclubperformer,set exposureto-1or-2.

6.Brightlylitnightscenes,suchascity

streets, are usually rendered most naturally with the correct exposure (green LED).

7.Whenphotographingextremelydark subjects(e.g.close-upofablackcat), setexposureto-1.

*TheexposurecompensationorLED panelcanalsobeusedtoincreasethe ASArangeto3-51200.Forexample, withtheASAdialsetto25,insteadof usingthegreenLEDforcorrectex- posure,usethe+3LEDwhenusing ASA3film.

* Since the upper and lowermost LED’srepresent3or more stopsdiffer- encefromthecentral(green)LED, whenevercompensatingby3stops, first adjust the aperture or shutter

Correct Exposure Measurement

*The TTLmeteringsystemofyour PDPrismFindermakesitunnecessary toconsidersuchfactorsasthediffer- enceinangleofviewofinterchange- ablelenses,filterfactors,orexposure increaseformacrophotography.(For accurateexposuremeasurementwhen takingclose-ups,besuretocarefully readtheinstructionspackedwiththe autobellows,reversering,etc.) *Inmacrophotography,theamountof lightreachingthefilmvariesinac- cordancewiththeextensionofthe auto bellows, extension rings, etc. Consequently,foraccurateresultsbe suretofirstfocusonthesubjectbefore takinganexposuremeasurement, *Topreventextraneouslightfromen- teringtheeyepieceandinfluencingthe exposurereading,keepyoureyeclose totheeyecupwhenmakinganexpo- suremeasurement.
