Scanning Programmes

1 Press the SCAN button to activate the Scan mode.

The first 10 seconds of each track will be played back in succession.

To stop scanning, press the SCAN button to deactivate the Scan mode.

NOTE

In case a 6-disc CD changer is connected:

Press the F button so that the F (Function) indicator lights up, then go to step 1.

Press the F button to return to the normal mode. The F indicator light goes out.

Displaying and Scrolling CD Text

While playing the audio CD with CD Text, the disc and track names can be displayed and scrolled.

1 In CD mode, press the TITLE button.

The mode will change every time the button is pressed.

CD mode:

ELAPSED TIME DISPLAY

TEXT DISPLAY (DISC NAME)

TEXT DISPLAY (TRACK NAME)

Displayed during playback of text compatible CD. "NO TEXT" will be displayed when the CD is not text compatible.

NOTE

Some characters may not be displayed correctly with this device, depending on the character type.

2 Press and hold the TITLE button for at least 3 seconds to scroll the information stored on the disc.

After scrolling, the display returns to normal mode.

NOTE

SCROLL: the display is scrolled only when a disc is loaded or when a track is changed or when the power turns ON during CD mode on this unit.

Text: Text compatible CDs contain text information such as the disc name and track name. Such text information is referred to as "text."

Controlling CD Changer (Optional)

If an optional Alpine 6-disc CD Changer is connected to the 8-pin DIN connector (M-Bus) of the CDM-7859R/CDM-7858R/CDM-7856R, you can control the CD Changer using the CDM- 7859R/CDM-7858R/CDM-7856R.

NOTE

The CD controls on the CDM-7859R/CDM-7858R/ CDM-7856R for the CD Changer operation are functional only when the CD Changer is interconnected with the CDM-7859R/CDM-7858R/CDM-7856R.

1 Press the SOURCE button to activate the CD Changer.

The display shows "changer", the disc number and track number.

NOTE

To start play or pause play, press the :/J button.

2 Make sure that the F (Function) indicator light goes out, then press the Preset buttons to select the desired disc loaded in the CD Changer.
